NCCIA Jobs Written Test Mock Test 1 - Free 50 Question Online Practice
Sindh City Portal is releasing a completely FREE Online Mock Test for NCCIA Jobs Written Test candidates. This is our Mock Test 1 — 50 brand-new practice questions, based on the rules and patterns taught throughout our daily prep notes series (Analytical Reasoning, Computers/IT, Cybersecurity and World Affairs). These are not the exact same questions given in the notes — they are completely new questions built using the same rules, so you can test your own understanding before the real exam.
This test recreates the real NCCIA Written Test environment: 50 questions, 4 options each, and only 30 minutes on the clock. When time runs out, the test submits automatically — exactly like the real exam. As soon as you submit, you instantly get your score and a detailed right/wrong report for every single question.
How to Take the Test — Step by Step
In the test widget below, first enter your name, city and WhatsApp number, then click "Start Test". As soon as you begin, a 30-minute timer starts running. Select one of the 4 options for each question — the progress bar at the top shows how many questions you've answered so far. When you're ready, click "Submit Test", or simply let the timer run out on its own.
Section-Wise Preparation Tips
Analytical Reasoning (23 Questions)
This is the largest section, so it deserves the most practice. For number and letter series, always find the differences first — if the differences themselves grow in a pattern (like 3, 5, 7, 9), the series usually follows a formula like n²+1. For blood relations and direction-sense questions, always sketch a small diagram instead of solving it in your head — this cuts down on careless mistakes.
Computers (IT) & Cybersecurity (19 Questions)
This section is built on basic computer knowledge and everyday digital safety — keep your fundamentals strong on input/output devices, MS Office shortcuts, and basic internet terminology (like SMTP, IP addresses, cloud computing). In cybersecurity, concepts like phishing, strong passwords, and multi-factor authentication come up repeatedly — remember simple, real-world examples of each.
World Affairs (8 Questions)
Keep the headquarters and roles of the major UN bodies (General Assembly, Security Council, WHO, ICJ) clearly separated in your mind — most questions are designed to make you confuse them with each other. Following international news regularly also helps a lot in this section.

Notes? Contact Us →Find the missing number in the series: 2, 5, 10, 17, 26, ?
Find the missing letter in the series: B, D, G, K, P, ?
Pen is related to Write in the same way Knife is related to:
Which word does NOT belong with the others?
In a certain code, every letter is shifted forward by one position in the alphabet (A becomes B, B becomes C, and so on). If CAT is written as DBU, how is DOG written in this code?
Pointing to a photograph, Ali said, "She is the daughter of my mother's only son." How is the girl in the photograph related to Ali?
A man walks 5 km North, then turns right and walks 3 km, then turns right again and walks 5 km. How far is he from his starting point, and in which direction?
In a class of 40 students, Sara is ranked 15th from the top. What is her rank from the bottom?
A father is 4 times as old as his son. After 5 years, the father will be 3 times as old as the son. What is the son's current age?
If today is Monday, what day of the week will it be after 17 days?
Study the pattern: Row 1: 2, 3, 6. Row 2: 5, 6, 30. Row 3: 7, 8, ?. What number completes Row 3?
Statements: All roses are flowers. Some flowers fade quickly. Which conclusion logically follows from ONLY these two statements?
"All roses are flowers" سے logically یہ نتیجہ نکلتا ہے کہ "Some flowers are roses"۔ fading والا statement یہ نہیں بتاتا کہ وہ خاص طور پر roses ہی ہیں، اس لیے اسے roses سے جوڑنا درست نہیں۔ عام غلطی یہ ہے کہ دو الگ statements کو خود سے ملا کر اپنی طرف سے conclusion اخذ کر لیا جائے۔
Find the missing number: 3, 6, 5, 10, 9, 18, 17, ?
Doctor is related to Hospital in the same way Teacher is related to:
Which number does NOT belong with the others: 8, 27, 64, 100, 125?
In a certain code, TABLE is written as UBCMF. Using the same code, how is CHAIR written?
Introducing a man, a woman said, "His mother is the only daughter of my mother." How is the woman related to the man?
A person starts from point X, walks 4 km East, then walks 3 km South. What is the straight-line distance from point X?
Five friends A, B, C, D and E sit in a row. B sits to the right of A. C sits to the left of A. D sits to the right of B. E sits between C and A. Who sits exactly in the middle of the row?
ہر clue کو left-to-right order میں تبدیل کر کے ایک ساتھ ملایا جائے تو order یوں بنتی ہے: C, E, A, B, D۔ پانچ seats میں سے تیسری (middle) seat پر A بیٹھا ہے۔ عام غلطی یہ ہے کہ clues کو الگ الگ اور بے ترتیب طریقے سے apply کیا جائے۔
What is the angle between the hour hand and the minute hand of a clock at 3:40?
Find the missing number in the series: 1, 3, 7, 15, 31, ?
Which word does NOT belong with the others: Triangle, Square, Circle, Cube?
Among five friends, P is taller than Q but shorter than R. S is taller than R but shorter than T. Who is the tallest?
Which device converts digital signals from a computer into a form that can travel over telephone or cable lines for internet connectivity, and back again?
A modem converts digital signals from your computer into a form that can travel over telephone or cable lines, and converts the incoming signal back again — that's exactly what internet connectivity needs. A monitor, scanner and keyboard don't do any signal conversion, so none of them fit. Common mistake: don't confuse a modem with a router — a router directs traffic within a network, while a modem converts the signal itself.
RAM (Random Access Memory) is best described as:
RAM temporarily holds the data and instructions the processor is actively using, and everything in it is lost the moment the power goes off — that's what "volatile" means. Permanent storage like a hard disk keeps its data even after a shutdown, which RAM does not. Common mistake: don't think of RAM as a storage device like a hard disk — it's temporary working memory, not permanent storage.
Which of the following is an example of an input device?
A monitor, printer and speaker are all output devices — they send data out of the computer. A scanner converts a physical document into digital data and feeds it into the computer, which makes it an input device. Common mistake: don't mistake a printer for an input device — it takes data from the computer and prints it out, so it's an output device.
Which file extension is used by default for a Microsoft Excel workbook?
.docx is for Word documents, .pptx is for PowerPoint presentations, and .xlsx is the default format for Excel workbooks. .pdf is a universal format that can be exported from almost any program, but it isn't Excel's default save format. Common mistake: don't mix up the extensions — each Office application has its own specific default.
In Microsoft Word, which keyboard shortcut makes selected text Bold?
In Microsoft Word, Ctrl+I is for Italic, Ctrl+U is for Underline, and Ctrl+B is for Bold. Ctrl+P simply opens the print dialog — it isn't a formatting shortcut at all. Common mistake: don't mix up B, I and U — each one has its own specific formatting job.
Which statement best describes the role of an operating system?
Browsing, running antivirus software and creating documents are all specific applications — not the operating system itself. The operating system manages hardware resources and provides the platform that lets all of these applications run. Common mistake: don't reduce the operating system to just one application, like a browser or antivirus program — its role is much broader.
Which protocol is primarily used to send email across the internet?
HTTP is for web pages, FTP is for file transfer, and DNS resolves domain names into IP addresses. SMTP is specifically the protocol used to send email. Common mistake: don't confuse DNS with an email protocol — its only job is translating names into addresses.
Which of the following is a validly formatted IPv4 address?
A valid IPv4 address always has exactly four numbers, each between 0 and 255, separated by dots. 256.300.1.1 has numbers above 255, and 192.168.1 has only three numbers, so both are invalid. Common mistake: don't use a dash instead of a dot — a dot is the only correct separator in IPv4.
What does Wi-Fi primarily provide to devices such as laptops and phones?
Wi-Fi's core job is connecting devices to a network without cables — that's its basic function. It doesn't automatically provide security or electricity. Common mistake: don't assume Wi-Fi is automatically "secure" — separate settings like a strong password are needed for that.
In Microsoft Excel, which formula correctly adds all the values in cells A1 through A10?
In Excel, the function for adding values is SUM, not ADD or TOTAL, and a colon (:) is used for a range like A1 to A10. =SUM(A1,A10) would only add A1 and A10, not the whole range in between. Common mistake: don't mix up the colon and the comma — the colon covers a full range, while the comma only picks specific cells.
Which storage device has no moving mechanical parts, making it generally faster and more durable than a traditional hard disk?
A floppy disk, CD-ROM and traditional hard disk (HDD) all have spinning or moving mechanical parts. An SSD uses flash memory chips with no moving parts at all, which generally makes it faster and more durable. Common mistake: don't think of an HDD and an SSD as the same kind of technology — their underlying design is completely different.
Cloud computing mainly allows users to:
Cloud computing's real definition is delivering resources like storage, servers and software over the internet, on demand. Storing photos online is just one small use case, not the full definition. Common mistake: don't limit "cloud computing" to just online file storage — it also covers servers, software and databases.
Which of the following best describes "phishing"?
Phishing is a social-engineering attack where the attacker pretends to be a trusted source to trick you into giving up sensitive information like a password or OTP. A firewall, backups and antivirus scans are all defensive tools, while phishing itself is an attack technique, not a defense. Common mistake: don't think of phishing as some technical tool — it's a deception technique that exploits human trust.
Which of these logins is the strongest example of Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)?
True multi-factor authentication combines two different types of factors: something you know (a password) and something you have (an authenticator app). A password plus a security question, or two passwords, are both still in the "something you know" category, which is weaker. Common mistake: don't assume two secrets automatically count as strong MFA — the factor types need to actually be different.
What is the basic security purpose of a firewall?
A firewall monitors traffic entering and leaving a network, and allows or blocks it based on a set of configured rules. Repairing files, speeding up browsing or storing passwords are not what a firewall does. Common mistake: don't treat a firewall as a full replacement for antivirus software — they're two separate layers of defense.
Which practice best protects against permanent data loss from a ransomware attack?
If a backup is kept isolated and is regularly tested, data can be recovered even after a ransomware attack encrypts the main system. A long password or frequent restarts can't bring back encrypted files. Common mistake: don't assume that just having a backup is enough — it also needs to be restored and tested periodically.
Compared with ordinary HTTP, what does HTTPS primarily add for web communication?
HTTPS is HTTP carried over TLS, which encrypts data in transit and verifies the server's identity. It only secures the connection — it doesn't guarantee that the website's business itself is trustworthy. Common mistake: don't treat HTTPS as a guarantee that a website is 100% trustworthy — it only means the connection is secure.
You receive an unexpected call from someone claiming to be "IT support," urgently asking for your one-time login code to "fix your account." What is the safest response?
A caller claiming to be "IT support" and creating urgency are both classic social-engineering red flags. Sharing an OTP with anyone can put your account at risk, so the safest response is to refuse and verify the request through an independently known official channel. Common mistake: don't trust a caller just because they sound confident or claim to be "IT support" — impersonation is a common social-engineering tactic.
Under the current text of Pakistan's Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA), 2016, as amended, which agency is designated as the investigation agency for offences specified under the Act?
Under Section 29 of the current, amended text of Pakistan's PECA, NCCIA is designated as the investigation agency for offences under the Act. Older material may mention the FIA Cyber Crime Wing, but that reflects the earlier setup, not the current legal position. Common mistake: don't answer with older, outdated information when the current amended law names a different agency.
Which UN organ is composed of all Member States, each with one vote?
The General Assembly is the UN organ where every member state is represented equally, with one vote each. The Security Council has only 15 members, so the clue "all member states" rules it out. Common mistake: don't assume the Security Council has universal membership too — its membership is limited.
Which international organization leads global efforts on public health matters?
UNESCO covers education, science and culture; the ILO covers labour standards; and the FAO covers food and agriculture. The WHO (World Health Organization) specifically leads global public health matters. Common mistake: don't assume the FAO is a health agency just because it deals with food — its real focus is agriculture and hunger.
The SAARC Secretariat is located in which city?
SAARC's permanent Secretariat is located in Kathmandu, Nepal. Dhaka hosted SAARC's founding summit, but the Secretariat itself is not there — a common trap. Common mistake: don't confuse the founding location of an organization with the location of its permanent headquarters.
Which international body primarily administers and settles disputes over multilateral trade agreements?
The IMF focuses on monetary stability, and the World Bank focuses on development financing, while the WTO (World Trade Organization) administers trade agreements and provides a dispute-settlement system. Common mistake: don't assume the IMF is a trade body just because it's also an economic organization — its focus is monetary stability, not trade.
Which strategic waterway connects the Red Sea to the Gulf of Aden?
The strait connecting the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden is Bab el-Mandeb. The Strait of Hormuz is at the entrance to the Persian Gulf, a completely different location, so it's ruled out. Common mistake: don't mix up the world's major straits — each one connects a specific pair of seas.
How many permanent members does the UN Security Council have?
The UN Security Council has 15 members in total, but only 5 of them are permanent (the P5) — the rest are elected, non-permanent members. Common mistake: don't confuse total membership (15) with permanent membership (5).
Which institution is most closely associated with long-term development financing and poverty reduction?
The IMF deals with monetary and balance-of-payments issues, while the World Bank provides financing for long-term development projects and poverty reduction. Common mistake: don't assume every international financial institution is the IMF — the World Bank's focus is development, not short-term monetary stability.
The International Court of Justice (ICJ) is seated in which city?
The UN's main headquarters is in New York, while the International Court of Justice (ICJ) specifically sits in The Hague, Netherlands. Geneva hosts several UN offices, but the ICJ isn't seated there either — another common trap. Common mistake: don't assume New York is the headquarters of every UN-related body — the ICJ sits in a different location (The Hague).
